Bastiaan Brink’s personal BGP Project
Personal and experimental BGP project
AS215248 is my personal and experimental BGP project, designed to explore advanced networking concepts and configurations. I’m hosting services in my homelab located in Almere, utilizing a rented IPv4 subnet (104.167.19.0/24).
As a registered RIPE LIR, I am currently on the IPv4 waiting list to receive my own allocated IPv4 subnet.
Technology
My BGP network is built on a foundation of MikroTik CHR routers and connections established through various upstream providers. These currently include Coloclue (AS8283), Cloudie Networks (AS924), Multi Services (AS215664), NCRYPTD (AS34465), Servperso Systems (AS34872), and Securebit (AS58057).
An internal BGP (iBGP) mesh connects these upstreams with my homelab in Almere. This configuration ensures seamless routing within my network, providing high performance and redundancy.

Homelab
My homelab consists of a 19″ rack housing a variety of hardware essential for my network and virtual environment operations:
- A Proxmox Virtual Environment Cluster built on 4 HP Z8 workstations, 1 MS-01, and a custom-built machine.
- 3 APC UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies).
- 2 APC ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches).
- 3 Synology Rackmount NAS (Network Attached Storage) units.
- 2 Ubiquiti UniFi 10GbE switches
- 1 Ubiquiti UniFi 1GbE switch for management traffic.

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in setting up a session. You can find more details and contact information on my PeeringDB profile linked below.

Publicly available hosted services
I’m currently hosting the following publicly available services:
- Stratus 1 NTP Server – Accessible via ntp.as215248.net and ntp2.as215248.net, providing precise time synchronization.
- Storj Storage Node – contributes to a decentralized cloud storage network.
I am open to adding more services that align with my goals of supporting internet infrastructure and contributing to decentralized and reliable solutions. If you have suggestions or proposals for services that could benefit the community, feel free to reach out.
